Dendy et al. compile the fire history mapping (2012 - 2021) for Babeldaob Island, Palau which reveals that while fire is largely confined to small, non-forested areas (e.g., savannas), these repeatedly burned areas can pose a threat to coral reefs from exposed bare soil which leads to sedimentation.
