Respondents noted that it is an aggressive, coastal species (some noted as invasive), with one noting that it is one of the most salt, wind and drought tolerant coastal species in Hawai`i.

Does not respond well (structurally) to broken branches or pruning.

Readily available via propagation from seed, cuttings and/or airlayers.
